Welcome to the Institute for Research on Women (IRW). We are a small Rutgers unit with a global scope, dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary feminist scholarship, activism, and community. Our programming includes a weekly seminar for faculty and graduate students, the IRW Distinguished Lecture Series, and an undergraduate learning community—all tied to an annual theme. For 2019-2020 our theme is "This is What Democracy Looks Like: Feminist Re-imaginings." We also run the Rutgers Public Engagement Project, develop publications (including a book series and the online journal Rejoinder), support working groups, and host visiting scholars from around the world.
