Artist Statement
My artwork is inspired by the interplay between destruction and creation, particularly as it unfolds within predator-prey relationships, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship. These themes have long been central to my art practice, but the Covid-19 pandemic underscored the fragility of our coexistence with wild and domesticated animals. Team-teaching with colleagues in my college’s Biology department has further enriched my perspective, enabling me to explore biodiversity, and the ecological impact of both natural and human-made phenomena on sentinel species.
