Rejoinder is an online journal featuring work at the intersection of scholarship and activism that reflects feminist/queer and social justice perspectives. Rejoinder is a publication of the Institute for Research on Women (IRW) at Rutgers University in partnership with The Feminist Art Project. It will provide a forum to explore ideas related to the institute’s programming, and showcase art related to IRW’s conferences and annual themes. To learn more about IRW and its work, visit: http://irw.rutgers.edu.
Authors own the copyright to their articles. Rejoinder is an open access journal made available by a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 4.0 International License (read the full license legal code). This license allows anyone to download, reuse, reprint, distribute, and/or copy or quote articles in Rejoinder so long as the original authors and source are cited, the use is noncommercial, and the work is unaltered.
Some issues of Rejoinder will accept only submissions that have been pre-commissioned or otherwise invited; other issues will be built around specific calls that will be widely distributed. When open calls are made, detailed submission guidelines (including anticipated word counts) will be available online at this site. See the current CFP for an issue on Storytelling for Social Change.
Manuscripts should be single-spaced and formatted in Microsoft Word. Please use a 12-point font, and italics rather than underlining (except for URLs). Graphics should be in tiff or jpeg file formats. Please place any artwork or tables in the appropriate section of the text, rather than at the end of the text and make sure all links are active. Citations and references should follow the author-date system of documentation as outlined in the Chicago Manual of Style (16th ed.), with limited footnotes. For more information about author-date style, see: http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html.
